PD at Lake Illawarra High School, NSW.

20-Dec-2014 I thoroughly enjoyed working with the 60 staff at this school on the second last day of the school year. The topic was explicit Teaching within a Thinking Skills Framework. We used a Silent Card Shuffle to understand Bloom's taxonomy of the cognitive domain, SWOT Analysis, Double Bubble, Extent Barometer, Decision Making Matrix, Extended PCQ and other tools to assist in engaging students in higher-order thinking. Thanks to the dynamic Kerry McKinlay and to the principal, Tony Hicks, who is so intent on professional growth, for inviting me to their school. Thanks to the staff in particular for their engagement, participation and professional demeanour.
